Membership is optional. It supports the journal’s open-access publishing and the scholarly community around it.
It has no bearing on how a manuscript is assessed.

What it is
An optional association with the journal
Members support the work of publishing therapeutic science openly: the editorial handling of manuscripts, the production of accepted articles, and their continued availability without a paywall.
Membership is voluntary. Authors may submit, be reviewed, be accepted and be published without it.

The boundary
Membership and editorial decisions are separate
Editorial decisions are based on scope, scientific quality, methodological rigor, ethical compliance, reporting quality, and relevance to the journal.
Single-blind by default; double-blind review is available on request. Manuscripts that proceed to external peer review are normally evaluated by at least two independent subject-matter experts.
Membership confers no advantage in the review or acceptance of a member’s own work. It does not affect screening, reviewer selection, the order in which manuscripts are handled, or the decision. Editors and reviewers are not told whether an author is a member.
