Membership options and amounts

Choose the category and term appropriate to the participating authors or organization. The membership team confirms eligibility, the amount payable and the APC coverage in writing before enrollment.

JWRH membership plan amounts for the stated term, in US dollars
Category1 year2 years
Individual researcherUSD 6,480USD 7,560
StudentUSD 4,440USD 5,040
InstitutionalUSD 9,500USD 12,500
Corporate and industryUSD 6,720USD 7,800

Membership amounts are separate from per-article APCs. A publication allocation defines plan coverage, not a commitment to accept or publish manuscripts. APC arrangements apply only to eligible manuscripts after editorial acceptance.

Eligibility and coverage

Membership can support work across JWRH's reproductive-biology, fertility, pregnancy, maternal-health, gynecologic and sexual-health scope throughout the lifespan. Every manuscript must meet the same scope and evidence requirements.

Individual researchers
For faculty, clinicians and independent investigators. The plan permits unlimited regular submissions as an author or co-author during the active term, excluding Special Issues. An unlimited submission allowance does not mean unlimited accepted publications or automatic APC coverage.
Students
For graduate and postgraduate trainees. A short recommendation from a faculty advisor, department chair or research supervisor confirms student status. Regular-submission eligibility includes author and co-author roles; Special Issues are excluded. The agreed APC arrangement applies to eligible accepted manuscripts.
Institutions
For universities, hospitals, research institutes and departments. The one-year plan has a 20-manuscript APC allocation; the two-year plan has a 30-manuscript allocation across the term. Identify participating units, eligible authors and a coordinating contact before enrollment.
Corporate and industry teams
For organizations working in biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, medical devices, digital health and reproductive-health services. The one-year plan covers an allocation of 10 articles per year; the two-year plan covers 15 per year. Funding and competing interests must be disclosed, and editorial decisions remain independent.

Membership and editorial decisions are separate

Membership is optional. It confers no advantage in the review or acceptance of a member's own manuscripts. Review standards and handling remain the same for members and nonmembers.

Editorial decisions are based on scope, scientific quality, methodological rigor, ethical compliance, reporting quality, and relevance to the journal.

Peer review: Single-blind by default; double-blind review is available on request. Manuscripts that proceed to external peer review are normally evaluated by at least two independent subject-matter experts.

Basic and preclinical research requires explicit reproductive relevance, not demonstrated clinical benefit. Clinical, population and qualitative work is assessed using evidence appropriate to its research stage and methods.

Enrollment, active term and renewal

Before enrollment

Provide your name, affiliation, contact details, JWRH membership category and preferred term. Organizational applications should identify a billing contact; student applicants should include the recommendation letter. The membership team confirms eligibility, pricing, covered charges and next steps.

During the term

Identify the membership when submitting and keep participating-author and billing details current. Membership certificates are provided for individual or organizational records. Coverage and any co-author eligibility follow the agreed plan.

Renewal and changes

Use membership provisions within the active term. Unused provisions do not carry over unless agreed in writing. Early renewal before the current term expires receives a 10% renewal reduction; the membership team confirms the renewal amount and term. Contact the team about upgrades or changes before relying on revised coverage.

Per-article charges

The standard JWRH APC is USD 2,100; the student APC is USD 540 for eligible authors with valid documentation. These are per-article rates, not membership prices. There is no submission or peer-review fee. APCs are invoiced only after acceptance.

Read the APC terms, including the withdrawal policy.

Common questions

Is membership required to submit or read research?

No. Authors may submit without membership, and published articles remain openly accessible. Membership is an optional arrangement for eligible publishing charges.

How are manuscript allocations used?

Every manuscript undergoes editorial assessment. Allocations describe coverage available under the plan; they do not reserve acceptance or change editorial criteria.

Can a co-author use membership coverage?

Coverage depends on the participating authors and terms agreed for the membership. Confirm eligibility with the membership team before relying on the arrangement.

Are Special Issues included?

Individual and student unlimited-submission allowances exclude Special Issues. Any institutional, corporate or separate Special Issue arrangement should be confirmed with the membership team.
