Biography:
Education:
- Ph.D. in Optics, Jilin University, China, 2001
- M.S. in Optics, Jilin University, China, 1998
Research Experience:
- 2005- present- Researcher, University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign Urbana, IL, USA.
- 1998-2004- Graduate Research Assistant, Jilin University
Research focus:
- I am interested in studying fundamental properties of solid state systems, such as the correlated electron systems that have rich phase diagrams as a function of doping, including insulating, ferromagnetic metal, and antiferromagnetic ground states.
- I am using various optical techniques, including reflectance and light-scattering spectroscopies, to characterize the excitation spectra of these materials, and to elucidate the mechanisms driving the different phase transitions.
- I am also interested in synthesizing and characterizing several materials using flux and other crystal growth techniques and analyze their properties using various characterization methods.
