Journal of Chromosomes

About The Journal

The Journal of Chromosomes (JC) is an international, peer-reviewed, open-access journal focusing on chromosome research. It publishes original research, review articles, and timely case studies that advance the understanding of structure and functions of chromosomes as they relate to health and disease.

Papers submitted to the JC should report significant results related to the genetic and genomic aspects of chromosomes, including their structure, organisation, regulation, and genetic content. The journal also welcomes submissions that provide insights into the implications of chromosomal variants and alterations to gene expression and function for health, development, and evolutionary biology. Articles accepted for publication include experimental, theoretical, and methodological advances in both animal and plant studies. The goal of the journal is to provide a platform for scientists from various disciplines to discuss and disseminate the latest research findings on chromosome biology.

Submission Process:

JC is committed to publish articles that are rigorously reviewed and are scientifically sound. It encourages the authors to adhere to the highest standards of quality and originality of work. Authors can submit their manuscripts to JC online or via email. All submissions are rigorously reviewed by the editorial board.

Scope of JC:

Chromosome 1, Chromosome abnormalities, Chromosome cohesion, Chromosome conformation, Chromosome conformation capture, Chromosome inactivation, Chromosome instability, Chromosome segregation, Chromosome topology, etc.

Remaining Scope can be viewed at Aim and Scope

Instructions to Prepare your article:

The authors of JC are expected to submit their manuscripts that conform to the journal’s guidelines for preparation. The manuscripts should be written in a clear and concise style, with appropriate diagrams and photographs as applicable. A structured abstract of the manuscript should also be provided. The authors must ensure the accuracy of the facts, figures and data provided in their manuscripts. Authors are also expected to provide a list of references that are relevant and up-to-date. The authors are also expected to adhere to the ethical guidelines for publishing and authorship as outlined in the journal’s guidelines.

Article Processing Charge:

JC also follows a strict process of open access publishing and charges article processing charges from authors to cover its costs. These charges cover activities such as peer-reviewing, technical editing, publishing, and providing digital archiving. By making research findings available for free, JC provides a platform for researchers to make their work accessible to the worldwide scientific community.
