Aims and Scope

The International Journal of Clinical Microbiology is online, open access, peer-reviewed journal that encourages authors to submit articles based on laboratory diagnosis and treatment of human and animal infectious diseases, virology, parasitology, and epidemiology. IJCM is devoted to the publication of advanced clinical studies concerning human and animal infections.

IJCM publishes all types of articles, such as research papers, reviews, letters, editorials, and case reports in the areas of clinical applications of microbiology.

The International Journal of Clinical Microbiology aims to promote the exchange of research findings, theories, and applications of clinical microbiology among researchers, clinicians, and students of medicine. IJCM focuses on the diagnostic aspects of clinical microbial organisms, the microbial pathogenicity of the organisms, and the characterization of the various diseases that result from the microbes. IJCM also covers areas such as the clinical implications of microbial infections, microbiologic-based therapeutics, and the prevention and control of infectious diseases. The Journal is committed to providing timely and accurate information on topics related to the study of clinical microbial genetics and the study of microbial pathogenesis.

IJCM strives to provide a multidisciplinary, objective platform for the presentation of medical knowledge that is applicable to both the academic and the practitioner. The scope of the Journal encompasses a diverse range of topics, including molecular diagnostics, antimicrobial therapy, epidemiology, and surveillance of infectious diseases, microbial pathogenesis, microbial genetics, and pharmacology.

This Journal applies the latest advances in technology and methods to the study of microbial pathogenesis and the clinical implications of microbial infections. As such, this Journal is an essential resource for clinicians and researchers who are engaged in the study and diagnosis of infectious diseases.
