Low-Income Country Waivers
Authors from World Bank-classified low-income countries are eligible for affordable APC waivers. Partial waivers available for lower-middle income countries.
Hardship Waivers
Individual authors facing financial hardship may request discretionary waivers. Requests are considered on a case-by-case basis during submission.
Partial waivers are assessed by the editorial office based on funding constraints, country classification, and documented need. Waiver requests must be submitted during initial submission and do not influence editorial decisions.
No Hidden Fees
The APC is a one-time charge. There are no submission fees, page charges, color figure fees, or supplementary material charges. What you see is what you pay.

APCs are billed only after acceptance. If you require an invoice for institutional payment, notify the editorial office after acceptance to avoid delays in publication scheduling.
Withdrawal Policy
Ethical Notice: Concurrent submission of a manuscript to multiple journals is a violation of publication ethics. If a paper is withdrawn from JOS after 3 days of submission to be sent elsewhere, a 30% withdrawal fee applies. Official withdrawal must be confirmed by the editorial office before submitting elsewhere.
