Journal of Implementation science

Aims and Scope

Journal of Implementation Science (JIS) is a premier open-access, peer-reviewed journal dedicated to advancing research on the systematic adoption, integration, and sustainability of evidence-based interventions in healthcare, public health, and policy. The journal serves as a global platform for researchers, clinicians, policymakers, and practitioners committed to bridging the gap between scientific discoveries and real-world application.

JIS welcomes high-quality research that explores:

  • Implementation Strategies: We welcome studies that investigate the effectiveness of various implementation strategies, such as dissemination and implementation frameworks, knowledge translation approaches, and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Implementation Outcomes: Research on the impact of implementation efforts on patient outcomes, healthcare delivery, and population health is of particular interest. This includes studies that assess the reach, adoption, implementation, and maintenance of evidence-based interventions.
  • Implementation Challenges: We encourage submissions that explore the barriers and facilitators to successful implementation, including organizational, cultural, and contextual factors that influence the uptake of innovations in diverse settings.
  • Implementation Methodologies: Articles that present innovative methodologies for studying implementation processes, such as mixed methods approaches, implementation science frameworks, and rigorous evaluation designs, are highly valued.
  • Implementation in Diverse Contexts: We seek to publish research that addresses the unique challenges and opportunities for implementation in various settings, including healthcare, public health, education, social services, and beyond.
  • Artificial Intelligence of JIS: We are interested in research that explores the use of AI technologies to improve the implementation of evidence-based practices, interventions, and policies in healthcare and other settings.
