Journal of Skeletal Muscle (JSM) is a peer-reviewed, open access journal that focuses on the physiology, pathology and biochemistry of skeletal muscle. It publishes original research articles, invited reviews, letters and opinion articles on topics related to the general field of skeletal muscle science and its related sub-areas. JSM strives to bridge the gap between clinical and laboratory research by providing timely, relevant, and easily understandable information on the latest developments in the field to its readers.


JSM accepts and publishes a variety of articles, including critical reviews, clinical trials, original research articles, short reports, and case studies. JSM utilises an efficient and transparent peer-review process to ensure that only the highest quality research is published. Additionally, JSM focuses on the timely publication of all accepted manuscripts and provides free access to its published content. By providing a forum for active discussion and education, JSM is committed to pushing the boundaries of research in the field of skeletal muscle.


Submission Process

All authors are required to submit their manuscripts via the Online Submission System. Manuscripts are peer reviewed, and authors must adhere to JSM’s instructions for authors. Among the instructions for authors, authors must prepare all manuscripts according to the established formatting requirements and guidelines. Further, authors must adhere to ethical standards and practice while preparing their manuscripts.

As JSM is an open access journal, JSM is committed to helping authors promote their research to a global audience and help ensure that important research in the field is made widely available. Author’s are requested to pay Article Processing Charges upon submission of article as it covers the production cost.
