Biography:
- Emilia Pedone is Researcher at Institute of Biostructures and Bioimaging of C.N.R in Naples, Italy.
- Her prevailing interest is the study of the structure-function relationship regarding different protein targets and protein-protein interactions involved in the insurgence of several pathologies.
- She has gained expertise in the main techniques of microbiology, biochemistry and molecular biology. In addition she has acquired technical skills for the expression of heterologous proteins in organisms such as Escherichia coli or insect cells or labeled proteins for the resolution of the structure by NMR or X-ray crystallography.
- Moreover she gained the know-how of biophysical methodologies such as CD, light scattering, SPR, ITC, spectrofluorimetry and thermophoresis for the study of protein-protein, protein-peptide, protein-DNA interactions.
