Editorial Policies

Upholding scientific integrity through transparent editorial standards.

Committed to Ethical Excellence

JHHR adheres to the highest standards of publishing ethics, as defined by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), ensuring fairness, transparency, and scientific rigor.

This page outlines the key policies governing manuscript evaluation, author responsibilities, and editorial decision-making at JHHR.

1. Peer Review Process

JHHR employs rigorous double-blind peer review. Both reviewers and authors remain anonymous throughout evaluation. Each manuscript is assessed by at least two independent specialists.

  • Initial screening for scope and quality by the Editor-in-Chief
  • Assignment to qualified peer reviewers in the relevant specialty
  • Authors receive detailed reviewer feedback and editorial decision
2. Ethical Compliance

All research involving human subjects must comply with ethical standards:

  • Institutional Review Board (IRB) or Ethics Committee approval
  • Written informed consent from participants
  • Adherence to the Declaration of Helsinki principles
  • Compliance with HIPAA and applicable privacy regulations
3. Conflict of Interest

Authors must disclose any financial or personal relationships that could influence their work. Reviewers and editors must recuse themselves when conflicts exist.

4. Plagiarism & Originality

JHHR uses plagiarism detection software (iThenticate) to screen all submissions. Manuscripts must represent original work with proper attribution to all sources.

COPE Membership: JHHR follows COPE guidelines for handling allegations of research misconduct.

5. Corrections & Retractions

If errors are discovered after publication, JHHR will issue an erratum or corrigendum. In cases of demonstrated misconduct, articles may be retracted per COPE guidelines.

6. Editor Responsibilities
  • Make decisions based solely on scientific merit
  • Ensure timely and fair peer review
  • Maintain confidentiality of submitted manuscripts
  • Address ethical concerns promptly and impartially
